In September 2014, Sea Shepherd announced their 2014/15 campaign as ‘Operation Icefish’, ‘the first campaign of its kind, using innovative direct action tactics to fill a law enforcement void exploited by illegal toothfish operators.’
While we are pleased Sea Shepherd located the IUU vessel, Thunder, there have been some inaccurate statements about legal toothfish fisheries; the governing body CCAMLR; and national Governments that we will aim to address in this forum.
